Leverage: The amount, expressed as a multiple, by which
the notional amount traded exceeds the margin required to
trade. For example, if the notional amount traded (also
referred to as "lot size" or "contract value") is $100,000
dollars and the required margin is $2,000, the trader can
trade with 50 times leverage ($100,000/$2,000).
Leverage or Margin – The ratio of the value of a transaction
to the required deposit. A common margin for FOREX trading
is 100:1 – you can trade currency worth 100 times the amount
of your deposit.
Leverage: The use of various financial instruments or
borrowed capital, such as margin, to increase the potential
return of an investment.
Leverage: The amount of debt used to finance a firm's
assets. A firm with significantly more debt than equity is
considered to be highly leveraged.
